PMI’s project management exams reward people, process, and business-environment mastery — and the right prep course is the difference between passing on the first try and burning a costly retake. Here’s the six-step process we use to test every PMP and CAPM course we recommend.
1
Get Hands-On Course Access
We get hands-on access to each provider — PrepCast, PMTraining, Brain Sensei and other leading courses — through trials and direct testing, to evaluate the real candidate experience.
2
Test the Mock Exams
We work through full-length PMP/CAPM practice exams, checking question realism, explanation quality, and how closely they mirror PMI’s actual testing format.
3
Check ECO Alignment
We verify each course maps to PMI‘s current Exam Content Outline across the People, Process, and Business Environment domains.
4
Assess Lessons, PDUs & Support
We evaluate lecture quality, whether the course supplies the required 35 contact hours/PDUs, and how strong the instructor support is.
5
Survey Certified PMs
We gather feedback from project managers who used each course to pass, validating our hands-on findings with real outcomes.
6
Rate & Re-Test on ECO Updates
We apply our weighted rating and re-evaluate whenever PMI revises the Exam Content Outline or a course updates its materials.
Every PMP and CAPM course earns its ranking through testing we never accept payment for placement.
